Shant Sarkissian is a well-known studio and live set drummer all over the Los Angeles area. He got his first drum set and started drumming at age 14 and has now been playing for 22 years. Discovering the beats of Buddy Rich and Neil Peart while at Musician’s Institute in 2005 spitited him on to graduate with a 3.5 GPA and continue life long learning from Chris Coleman. Shant has been managed by Velvet Hammer, and has recorded for the major motion picture, “Lords of Dogtown” and the Comedy Central movie preview of “Dumb and Dumber”. He has also recorded at some of the biggest recording studios in the area, such as Indigo Ranch, NRG, and Record Plant. In addition, he has also played at every venue in the Los Angeles area, including The Sports Arena, The Palladium and the Henry Fonda. Having grown up with 4 nieces and a nephew, he naturally loves kids and gets a thrill out of teaching.
Shant is available for private lessons on Sundays and Wednesdays.
